Indiana stays lidless

Proposals to require bicyclists under 18 years in Indiana to wear helmets died a quick death in the committee stage of a bill about bicycling.

Instead the Senate approved new laws to bring prison sentences to motorists who injure bicyclists in bike lanes and to remove archaic statutes that require bikes to have bells and which prohibit them from carrying packages.
