Based in Toronto, I’m a climate hawk who uses digital tools to marshal popular power against oil and gas projects. I’ve done it all: Worked for political parties, written policy, and worked in the world of corporate carbon credits. I hold degrees from Yale and McGill.
Previously, I’ve served as President of Sierra Club Canada and founded Carbonzero, A provider of carbon offsets and greenhouse gas management services. As youth, I was a founding member of the Canadian Youth Climate Coalition.
As I was cycling home the other night I came across a few of my fellow students from the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. Several of them asked me: Where is your bike helmet?
I get this question a lot. I have made a careful and conscientious choice to not wear a helmet when I’m cycling in urban areas because I strongly believe that it will help improve the overall safety of cycling in the long run (more)
